Donal O’Neill is an Irish born, independent documentary filmmaker. A former international track and field athlete, Donal’s passion for health and human perfomance resonates throughout his films. His debut feature length documentary “Cereal Killers” (2013) was tipped as one of the top 10 independent movies of 2013 that could change the world and the sequel – “Run on Fat” (2015) – has been billed as the future of sports nutrition. In 2015 he joined forces with British Cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra to make “The Big Fat Fix” (2016). World renowned Sports Scientist Prof Tim Noakes has hailed it as “the best health movie ever.”
Donal is a graduate of Queen’s University, Belfast where he received a BSc and a Masters Degree in Finance. His working career began in a global sports management role with Mark McCormack’s IMG Group. He is the founder of Ireland’s most powerful athlete representative body – The Gaelic Players Association – and worked in the online tech gaming industry until 2010 when the camera came calling. He has been featured in The New York Times, the BBC, SKY News and The British Journal of Sports Medicine. ENDS
