Kristof is the founder & inventor of Turbine, a biotech startup fighting cancer with artificial intelligence.

With a background in computer science, he turned to life sciences and did his PhD in biology. This multi-disciplinary background enabled him to build AI that can model and understand highly complex biological systems.

Despite being a scientist by heart, he also has an aptitude for commercializing inventions, having already co-founded a successful biotech company. After inventing Turbine, he patented, spun-off, then built a team to develop this breakthrough technology, winning Bayer’s trust and gaining acceptance to the pharma giants’ Grants4Apps accelerator. His credo is that the best research must stand the test of the market.
